Remember themes
Use-case:
I want to switch regularly between a dark theme and a light one. Clearly, it's useful for day/night.
But I want to customize both of them, because I don't like the built-in default themes.Problem:
Right now, Chordle has two "default" themes and one "custom". I can customize any of them, but all the customizations are
reset and forgotten at the moment I switch to any other theme. So I change back to my custom theme, and all the customizations are gone, which is really confusing and irritating.
So long term usage of any two themes is out of…3 votes -
Import & Export of Slashes for beats
A second plea for this! While Chordle allows slashes in the chord line to represent beats, it doesn't convert them properly to chordpro, nor does it import them from Chordpro.
I use forward slashes for beats, and back slashes to indicate a quick chord change (ie half bar). For example:
C C G \ Em A D / / C
This is a song that I once wrote to someone I forgotwhich in Chordpro should be:
[C]This is a [C]song that [G]I once[] [Em]wrote to [A]someone [D]I for[/]got [/] [C]
EDIT For some reason, the above formatting gets changed…

Transposing between major & minor
When I transpose a song, written in C-major, to A-minor, I kinda expect the chords not to change at all.
Instead, it transposes to A-major.
I know, this should not ever happen, since I should not transpose from major to minor & vice versa...
But the A-major result seems kinda "even more wrong" O:-)
I guess either I should not be able to cross-transpose between major and minor outside the edit mode, or it could observe the key signature and treat A-minor as C-major, instead as A-major?

Remembering setlist position
I have a lot of songs saved, but I don't use setlists, almost never.
So, in order to see more of the songs in the song library left panel, every single time I launch the app, the first thing I do is to click the "arrow down" button to minimize the setlist window, so the whole left panel is available for the song library.
It's definitely not a big issue, but it would be nice, if it would remember to stay down :-)

Many Ideas
First of all, let me praise you for the amazing job you've done in creating this fantastic piece of software.
After having used the app for over a year almost weekly, I do have a good idea of a few of the shortcomings.
It's not really a shortcoming, but a feature that will imidately broaden your user base/clients. iOS version of the app for iPad.
80% of the musicians I interact with on a daily basis use an iPad with OnSong. Many of them are really frustated and willing to pay money to try something else.Sync accross accounts. For…

Page Up and Page Down, Directional Arrows in Search Results
It would be a big help if you could enable Page Up, Page Down, and the Up and Down directional arrows throughout the app. Especially in search results, for example. When looking up an artist (ex. U2 or Pearl Jam) with an enormous library of songs, it is tedious to have to use the scroll bar to scroll down through the results. Less mouse and more keyboard controls is always a bonus for me. Thank you!

Nashville Notation System into Chordle Display
This should be easy to implement, and will atract more professional musicians.
Implement the Nashville Number System into the Display Notation feature in Chordle.
https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Nashville_Number_System
So we can use the many benefits of the system.

Scroll verses horizontally, like a ticker-tape, with chord changes annotated above the line.
1) Having the option of scrolling the song horizontally from right to left, in a linear fashion would be beneficial in that it would alleviate having to find your place within the song should you look away from the screen.
2) Lastly, it would be great if Chordle could play the music file of the song that is displayed and adjust the scrolling automatically in sync with the song. This would eliminate the need to use one program to play the music(during practice) and Chordle to display the song.1 vote -
Add other insturments to the display of the songs .... not just guitar and ukulele
As a bass player i would like the base notes copy displayed instead of just guitar and ukulele to the songs. Or other instruments too in particular

Using superscript O for dim chords.
Writing "dim" often is too long to fit over the lyric. I'd like to do something like right-click the letter ("O" in this case) to select it's format (superscript in this case).

Add a setlist organising window
Organising a long setlist is very difficult in a small list (that scrolls too fast!). I would like to see:
A full-screen window showing an entire setlist of songs that:
Displays the songs in a grid / list or timeline
Has drag and drop to song positions
A grid would be very useful. Additionally it could a timeline show
Songs on a start/break/stop time line
Song durations
Thank you!

lyric export without chords
It would be nice to be able to export the song text without chord (e.g. when I make a special text for a birthday party, I'd like to export text only.)

Provide a MIDI output channel to control a sequencer with the text scrolling (start/stop/pause/rewind)
For live performers it's nice to start the sequencer, i.e. drums, with the click at the start button of scrolling song text.

Add capability to add picture to song
Some chords have highly unusual fingerings (the ending of Amie, for example). Tab takes too long too decipher. I picture of the fretboard showing finger placement is ideal. It would be great to paste an image into a song in a place of my choosing (similar to Word's wrap behind text" feature). That way I can place the fretboard fingerings in the location where they'll do the most good.

Markup language for "Chord Above Text" format
I have +700 songs in Word format that I'm importing into Chordle. I'd like the ability to insert in-line comments. I can make a comment on a new line by using #comment, but I'd like to do this at the end a line of chords or lyrics as well.
Switching to ChordPro format doesn't work because then all my chords look like text and won't transpose.

Please add page/scroll break in a song
I really would appreciate, if you would develop a functionality to set a kind of a page break to control how far to scroll when the appropriate footswitch is pressed. This would give the chance to scroll when the song progression allows it.

Add syncing over bluetooth
I'm often in areas where I have little to no internet access. It would be really nice if I could download and set up songs on my mobile device (when I can get a connection) and then not have to worry about finding a way to use Onedrive as an intermediary to sync up the devices that I can't easily get online with.

Need zoom in zoom out option when lyrics are ginally viewing.
Need zoom in zoom out option when lyrics are ginally viewing.
I.e, when lyrics are imported and setup, it will actually use in an event. When lyrics present, mostly it needs to be zoom in as small fonts cannot easily read in stage.11 votes
